PSHE and RE

PSHE Intent:

It is our intent to ensure that, by the end of their primary education, all children have been given relevant learning experiences to help them navigate their world and to develop positive relationships with themselves. We aim to ensure that our children leave our school emotionally literate, resilient and mindful with their mental and physical health nurtured to the best of our ability. Our PSHE education gives pupils the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe and to prepare them for life and work in modern Britain. We aim to promote spiritual, moral, social and cultural development that enables them to thrive in a supportive learning community. Our PSHE curriculum will help develop children to become mindful and build on their skills and attitudes to enable them to make positive contributions to the world we live in. Our main two aims for all children are:
• To build their capacity for learning
• To equip them for life

R.E Intent:

It is our intention to allow all learners to share their experiences and to learn from one another and the religions and beliefs in our community. This rich diversity influences the religions and beliefs that will be taught in RE. This will allow all pupils to explore their own beliefs, values and traditions, and those of others in engaged and engaging ways. RE aims to support children to develop positive attitudes of respect towards people from all religions and world views. We intend to develop diversity across the primary school using a range of religions studied, and visitors to schools.
